Welcome!

Join me in my wanderings...

Most likely, you'll be interested in some of the research and field work I'm doing - investigating the use of Information and Communications Technologies to address poverty in developing regions, in which case I would start on the research section of this web site. If you want to know a little more about me, you can glance at my personal page, or check out some of the books I've read on the books page.

I have a lot of stuff going on these days, most of which hasn't quite made it onto this web site yet. For now, the books and the how-to sections will stay mostly untouched - I'll get to them someday...

An Introduction to ICT4D

For those of you interested in learning more about the field and some of the projects going on at UC Berkeley, you can take a look at my Survey of Projects on ICT for Developing Regions and my Guide to ICT4D Research at Berkeley. A good list of suggested readings for an overview of the topic is available as the reading list for the IS290: Information and Communications Technology for Development: Context, Strategies, and Impacts class offered in Spring 2005. This class will be offered again this spring.
